Three everyday tasks, shown in the real panel and on the chart. Enlarge any image to inspect the levels.

01

Plan and size the trade.

Place entry, stop loss and target on the chart. Choose cash risk, a percentage of balance or equity, or fixed lots. Review the calculated size and planned R:R before sending.

Moving the stop changes the size. In risk-based modes, a wider stop reduces the calculated volume.

Each price has its own label. Double-click a tag when you need to enter an exact level.

02

Set up partial exits.

Choose up to four exit stages, with a trigger and closing amount for each. Match TP1–TP4 in the panel to their lines on the chart.

A level for each stage. Set distances in R or points and show or hide the partial marks.

Volume rules still apply. Automatic percentages use original position volume; broker minimum lots and volume steps apply.

03

Manage break-even and trailing.

Choose the break-even trigger and lock level, then set the trailing start, distance and step. Change an existing position through its Rules editor.

The trigger is not the stop. The BE line marks when a stage becomes eligible; the lock level shows the requested stop position.

Review each position’s rules. New panel defaults apply to trades opened afterwards.

More of your workflow

The tools behind the panel.

You choose the trades and the rules. ChartSteer brings the planning and management tools into the same workspace.

Follow, Freeze & Lock R:R

Follow the quote for a market plan, hold SL and TP prices, or preserve the planned ratio as you adjust levels.

How the controls interact

Follow keeps a market entry at the quote. Freeze holds SL and TP prices when entry moves. Lock R:R preserves the planned ratio as levels change. With Freeze and Lock R:R enabled together, Freeze takes priority when entry moves.

Market & pending orders

Plan market, limit and stop entries. Read the full order type on the Send control. Larger orders can be split into broker-sized parts.

OCO & bulk actions

Link pending orders with OCO. Manage selected trades or filter actions by profitable positions, losing positions, BUYs or SELLs.

Broker & virtual levels

Inspect entry, SL and TP in the level editor. Review the execution mode and chosen trade or group before applying changes.

Equity controls

Set profit and loss thresholds. Choose whether to pause new ChartSteer orders or close trades in the selected scope and pause.

Your chart workspace

Choose a theme, scale, text size and density. Set RR colors, optional tag hints and chart hotkeys to fit your workflow.

ATR-based draft levels

Start new plans with ATR-based stop and target distances using your chosen period and multiplier. Review the prices before sending.

Economic calendar

Filter events by currency and impact. Compare forecast, previous and actual figures when they are available.

  3. 3

    Review your settings.

Check risk defaults, confirmations and management rules. Test your broker’s order restrictions and volume limits.

Before you begin

Practical questions.

What ChartSteer needs, and how the management rules run.

Does ChartSteer choose trades for me?

No. You choose the trades. ChartSteer helps you plan levels, calculate position size and apply the management rules you configure.

What do I need to run ChartSteer?

MetaTrader 5 for Windows, an MQL5 account for installation and a compatible trading account. Check your broker’s order restrictions, volume limits and execution settings.

Must MT5 stay open?

Automatic management needs ChartSteer attached, MT5 running and connected, and trading permissions enabled. Virtual triggers, partial exits, break-even, trailing, OCO cancellation and equity actions depend on the terminal and broker execution. Accepted broker SL/TP stays with the broker. Fast markets can fill both OCO orders before cancellation.

Do new defaults change existing trades?

Break-even and trailing defaults apply to trades opened afterwards. For an existing position, open its Rules editor and review the selected trade and scope.

Can I manage manually opened trades?

ChartSteer can optionally include manually or externally opened trades in its management scope. Enable the setting deliberately and review which positions it covers.

Can I use the free demo on my broker chart?

The free Market demo runs only in Strategy Tester. Use the full product or a rental for a normal broker demo-account chart. Planning without orders is a setting in the full product, rather than a separate free trial.

What does the purchase include?

The MQL5 offer is $79 for unlimited use with 20 activations. MQL5 handles purchase, installation and activation. Check the listing for current terms.

Where do I get help?

Use the feature tour and animations above, email support@chartsteer.com or contact the developer on MQL5.
